About the Tesco Eat Happy Project
We want the next generation to have a healthier and happier relationship with food. To make this change, we are working to give them the tools they need to live a healthy life and make better decisions about what they put on their plates when they grow up.
Our Farm to Fork initiative is the first step we’re taking to get children interested in where their food comes from. The Tesco Eat Happy Project will continue to evolve over time, introducing new opportunities for children to broaden their culinary horizons by making food interesting, engaging and fun. Join us on this journey.
Let’s teach our kids to Eat Happy.
Farm to Fork Trails
Our first goal this year is to take one million primary school children on Farm to Fork Trails. Working closely with Tesco suppliers across the UK, we’ll bring classes to farms, fisheries and factories to show them where a cow is milked, where lettuce grows or how butter is made. It's really easy to sign up for a Farm to Fork Trail – and we can even come to visit you at your school.
NEW! Online Field Trips
Using Google+ Hangouts, our Online Field Trips bring farms and factories into the classroom, with presentations from food suppliers around the world – from banana growers in Costa Rica to Italian pasta makers – via live video chats.

Farm to Fork Cooking
To help children turn their Farm to Fork knowledge into a practical passion for food, we’re running free cookery courses at 50 Tesco stores across the UK this summer in partnership with the Children’s Food Trust. Children aged five to 13 will have the chance to attend fun, three-day courses where they’ll master kitchen skills, discover new ingredients and learn recipes to recreate at home.
Our Resource Hub
Working with teachers, we’ve created a Resource Hub full of helpful lesson plans, recipes and activities to teach children more about what goes into their food, and to inspire and encourage them to get cooking.
