Brandon Gabriel

My name is Brandon Gabriel from the Kwantlen First Nation in Fort Langley B.C. I have been painting since I was twelve years old, and have pursued this passion for creating art ever since then; I have been practicing art professionally since I was fifteen years old; I am now thirty years old. I am a graduate of Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Emily Carr University. I received my BFA in 2006, with my major in visual art. Indigenous arts are my area of focus and thus have paved the way for my current position as an instructor of Indigenous Arts at the University of the Fraser Valley.

My inspiration for this design was the idea of family and community protecting, encouraging, and nurturing the children, or future of the community. I believe that the Fraser Region: Aboriginal Early Childhood Development Network embodies these core values as part of its aspirations as a community stakeholder.
