Bourne Prepared Produce started life in 1989 as Bourne Salads, based in Bourne, Lincolnshire, producing freshly bagged salads. Over the years it has evolved and expanded its offering, and in 2010 was renamed ‘Bourne Prepared Produce’ to reflect this expansion. 

The company is now part of the Bakkavor Group, who, with over 30 factories is the UK’s leading manufacturer of freshly prepared foods, supplying major supermarkets across the country. The group currently makes everything from ready meals and pizzas to salads, desserts, dips, soups and breads.

During one of their interactive classroom-based sessions, kids will learn how the different products Bourne Prepared Produce supply are grown and harvested. They will also have the opportunity to design, market and cost out new product lines, providing them with the full manufacturing experience.
