About this trail
This trail helps children understand the importance of a balanced diet. Use our free teacher’s notes and resources for when you’re back in the classroom.
What happens on the trail?
- Children will learn that fruit and vegetables are healthy foods and we should aim to eat at least five portions a day.
- They will learn where sugar comes from, as well as how to read nutritional charts to avoid eating more sugar than the recommended allowance.
- The class will taste and find out about healthy snacks.
- They will try their hand at making muesli and learn that it can be a healthy breakfast option.
